CAN'T FAIL PIE CRUST

This recipe was contributed by Wayne's mom, who got it from her mother who got it from a friend she worked with at Borden's--around 40 years ago.

Ingredients

3 Cups flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 Cup lard
1 Egg, plus enough milk to make 2/3 Cup
1 Tbsp vinegar

Directions

Cut lard into flour and salt mixture. Stir vinegar into egg and milk mixture, until lightly mixed, using fork. Stir liquid into flour mixture and mix with for until mixture cleans sides of bown. If too dry, add a little more milk.

Makes enough crust for two double-crusted 10 inch pies.

Note: You may substitute vegetable shortening for lard. Lard allegedly makes a crumblier crust, while vegetable shortening may make it more flaky.
